- Mitie has supported Essex County Council with the installation of roof mounted solar panels at 15 schools across the county
- The panels will generate 700,000 kWh of energy, equivalent to powering 185 homes a year, saving 180 tonnes of CO2 and around £115,000 annually
- A further 28 school sites and council buildings will also have solar panels installed over the next 3 months, saving an additional 220 tonnes of CO2 a year

- The contract is worth £4 million a year and will see over 200 Mitie employees delivering cleaning services for the two hospitals

- The contract will include over 175 Regional and Local Test Sites and more than 100 Mobile Testing Units (MTUs) across the UK
- Since April 2020, Mitie has been delivering cleaning, clinical waste management and security services, such as traffic management and lane support, for 138 test centres

- More than three quarters (77%) of veterans would recommend a career in FM to other armed forces leavers
- Though 50% of veterans say it was a challenge to find work after leaving the military, four in five (84%) managers say veterans are likely to possess the skills most urgently needed in the sector

- Mitie has launched its first ‘low carbon menu’ for patients at St. George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust which will save up to 23 tonnes of CO2 a year
- Designed in collaboration with its food partner apetito and St. George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, the menu focuses on prioritising ingredients with a lower carbon footprint, such as poultry, fish and vegan options
- Designed by dietitians, the new menu will ensure all dietary requirements – such as gluten free, vegan and easy to chew – continue to be catered for

- Mitie has won a seven-year contract to deliver maintenance services on the Future Defence Infrastructure Services programme for sites across Scotland and Northern Ireland
- Awarded by the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), the contract is worth up to £646 million over seven years which DIO has the option to extend for three more years
- The sites range from historic buildings, such as Edinburgh Castle, through to military and air force bases, including Abercorn Barracks and Kinloss Barracks
