- Mitie’s Plan Zero consultants will use 3D digital modelling software to understand how buildings will respond to different low and zero Carbon solutions

- Mitie has secured a new maintenance services contract with the UK’s busiest international ferry port which welcomes over 11 million passengers each year
- Initially running for four years, the contract will cover maintenance and new installations across the Port of Dover’s estate which ranges from industrial facilities to commercial office buildings and residential flats
- The contract includes an annual innovation fund for investment to support the acceleration towards a technology-enabled port as well as to drive carbon reduction initiatives in line with the Port of Dover’s net zero strategy

- Mitie’s responsibilities will include grass cutting, tree maintenance, litter picking, and weed control, as well as winter maintenance services
- Sustainable white marine salt will be used for gritting services rather than traditional brown salt, as part of Mitie’s mission to deliver sustainable services on the contract

- Mitie also supported over 1,200 apprentices and volunteered almost 25,000 hours to local causes through FY24

- Mitie has secured a new three-year contract with Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust to deliver clinical waste management services
- Mitie will use innovative autoclave equipment that treats waste with high pressure steam which can then be recycled, which is a more sustainable method than the traditional high temperature incineration process
- Mitie’s specialist clinical waste business, Cliniwaste, will be central to the delivery of the contract

- A middle ground between traditional grass and wildflower meadows, flowering lawns provide a biodiverse, neat, and easy to maintain solution for commercial landscapes
- The trials are taking place across two locations and have been cultivated using three methods, in order to determine the best technique for different climates
