  • The apprentices are based across the UK, including Birmingham and Nottingham, and work across Mitie’s areas of expertise from engineering to project management
  • The 12-month long programme is the first of three new AI programmes and will empower participants to become ‘AI Productivity Champions’ for the business

  • This marks the first year that Mitie has been recognised in its entirety as a group, having previously won Gold Awards for individual business units including Security, Communities and Waste last year, as well as a President’s Award for ten consecutive years of Gold certifications for its Sellafield nuclear site in 2023
  • The internationally recognised RoSPA Awards scheme is the longest running of its kind, receiving almost 2,000 entries annually and awarding organisations, teams and projects for their unwavering commitment to protecting lives

  • Mitie has secured a new £12 million three-year contract with the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) to provide integrated facilities management services across its two sites in Newport, Wales
  • Mitie will bring new technology, innovation and efficiencies to the IPO’s estate and is committed to helping the IPO meet its net zero goals
  • Mitie is also supporting the Newport region through social value initiatives like ‘spring cleans’, hosting careers fairs at local schools and increasing recruitment from the local community into apprenticeships in FM

  • A new SFJ Awards qualification designed in collaboration with and endorsed by the Protective Security Centre, Government Security, to bolster protective security skills and support the UK’s national security has launched
  • The Level 4 certification, which is designed to upskill security professionals and attract new talent to the protective security sector, is the first qualification to be endorsed by all three of the government’s National Technical Authorities
  • Mitie’s specialist training arm, PerpetuityARC, will be the first training partner to deliver the qualification through a range of dedicated modules

  • New three-year contract with South Western Railway (SWR) covering engineering maintenance and repairs for over 200 stations and a further ten train depots from Waterloo to Weymouth
  • Sustainability will play a central role throughout the contract, with Mitie deploying its Plan Zero experts to identify and deliver carbon cutting initiatives
  • As well as building on its existing intelligence-led security contract with SWR, this contract demonstrates further growth for Mitie’s rail transport business, which counts over ten train operating companies as customers

  • Mitie has been appointed by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to provide the largest security workforce within the Government estate, alongside building and operating a 24/7 Security Control Centre 
  • The Security Guarding contract is valued at £136m per year over the 7-year initial term alongside a £3m per year Security Control Centre contract, initially running for a term of 5 years
  • Mitie will use DWP’s strategic risk-based deployment model providing a physical security presence at Jobcentres and other DWP buildings to enable a safe environment and deter violence, complemented by 24/7 remote monitoring

  • Kathryn will be leading all aspects of the People and Culture strategy across Mitie’s 72,000 strong workforce
  • She will also join Mitie’s Group Executive Team to lead the delivery of Mitie’s best-in-class People strategy
