​ Ruby McGregor-Smith to succeed Ian Stewart as Chief Executive

Mitie Group PLC – Changes to the Board of Directors

Mitie Group PLC (‘Mitie’ or ‘the Group’) is pleased to announce the following changes to its Board of Directors which will be effective from 30 March 2007.

Ruby McGregor-Smith will be appointed as Chief Executive of the Group. Ruby joined the Board of Mitie in December 2002 as Group Finance Director and was subsequently appointed as Chief Operating Officer in September 2005.

Ruby will succeed Ian Stewart, the current Chief Executive, who will retire from his Executive position on the Board and will assume the role of Non Executive Deputy Chairman.

Sir John Jennings, the current Non Executive Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Non Executive Director will also retire, having served on the Board and acted as Non Executive Deputy Chairman for nine years. Cullum McAlpine, a Non Executive Director will be appointed to the role of Senior Independent Non Executive Director. In addition, David Jenkins, a Non Executive Director since 2006 will take over Sir John’s role as Chairman of the Nominations Committee.

I am pleased that Cullum McAlpine, who has substantial experience of the Group having served as a Non Executive Director for over 3 years has agreed to act in the capacity as Senior Independent Non Executive Director, and also that David Jenkins will take over as Chairman of the Nomination Committee.”
