MITIE, the strategic outsourcing and energy services company, has been recognised for high standards of service delivery on its UK FM contract with Rolls-Royce.
Rolls-Royce announced the award at their third annual Supplier of the Year Awards Dinner which they recently hosted in the USA for their top strategic Partners and Suppliers.
The Rolls-Royce supplier awards recognise the contribution and commitment of the supply base to continuous improvement, with a focus on performance. MITIE was commended by Rolls-Royce for the standards of service provided on its Facilities Management contract in the UK.
At the end of 2010, after a rigorous selection process, Rolls-Royce awarded MITIE the Integrated Facilities Management contract for Europe, the Middle-East and Africa (EMEA). Spanning seven countries, with 56 sites and employing a MITIE team of over 1,000, this pan-European contract is unique in the FM industry by virtue of its sheer scale and complexity.
Mike Orris, Rolls-Royce, Chief Procurement Officer, commented, "The Rolls-Royce Supplier of the Year awards recognise the contribution and continuous commitment of strategic partners and suppliers in support of the Rolls-Royce supply chain strategy and, ultimately, the performance of our product range. We congratulate the winners and look forward to continuing our successful relationship."
The award was accepted on behalf of MITIE by Group Corporate Development Director Roger Goodman, who paid tribute to the MITIE team on the Rolls-Royce contract. “Since the original cleaning contract in 1993, we have worked in close partnership with Rolls-Royce to drive efficiencies in service delivery and value, whilst always achieving consistent standards across all the sites. It’s a great tribute to everyone involved that we have been recognised in this way.”

Notes for editors
What is MITIE?
We’re the strategic outsourcing company. What does that mean in practice? We manage facilities, properties and assets for our clients across the UK and beyond.
We work with our clients in three ways; some take full advantage of our whole range of expertise, others may only need one aspect of what we do:
Strategy and consultancy
+ Facilities and project management
+ Service delivery
Our strategic input can add value at the highest level by helping clients to manage their assets, while our practical management expertise can save customers money and reduce their carbon emissions. We work with a vast number of clients in every industry across both the public and private sectors and deliver the broadest range of services that can be found in one place: from integrated facilities management to engineering maintenance to lifecycle energy management and much more.
There’s a lot more to MITIE than you probably think. We’re a big company with big ambitions – a leading FTSE 250 support services business, with more than 56,000 people, revenues in excess of £1.7bn, and a reputation for being the best.
