February 2012 – The total security management business of Mitie, the strategic outsourcing and energy services company, has today announced that it is launching a remote locking and unlocking service for its clients’ premises.
This launch sees the expansion of Mitie’s technology services offering with this additional service managed through its technology centre, MiTec. Access can be provided to clients’ premises via remotely controlled locking devices fitted to doors through a network connection. Clients will be able to choose lock and unlock times and different times can be set for different doors in one building.
Mitie is working in partnership with Tyco Security Products, a world leader in electronic security products and services. Their systems use network based controllers which do not rely on mobile 3G signalling removing the risk of interrupted network coverage.

The system is also an entry level access control solution using Kantech, a brand of Tyco Security Products, which is scalable giving clients the added benefit of being able to build up their access control provision easily to meet any change in risk or requirement.
