Mitie, the facilities management company, is celebrating a ninth consecutive Gold Award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). The award follows the recent confirmation of Gold Awards for three of Mitie’s largest integrated facilities management contracts – Rolls-Royce, Lloyds Banking Group and the Cumbrian Collaboration.

For the past 60 years, the annual RoSPA Awards have been held to celebrate excellence in safety performance. They have become highly sought-after as a universal acknowledgement of an organisation’s on-going commitment to promoting good habits, awareness, knowledge and, overall, embedding a deep-rooted culture of health and safety.

Mitie has a well-established programme of health and safety initiatives across its facilities management business. This is built on engaging employees at all levels through interactive campaigns and communications – most recently, the award-winning ‘One lapse can last a lifetime’ video series. The series has formed a central part of Mitie’s long-standing Work Safe Home Safe! campaign, which encourages employees to consider the long-term effects of their actions in the workplace.

Mitie’s FM QHSE team will attend an awards ceremony on 21 June at London ExCeL, where they will be officially recognised and collect their award.
