MITIE, the strategic outsourcing and asset management company has helped to develop a new spring Garden for Kings Norton Primary School. 

Children from Kings Norton Primary School became very excited when asked to help design a new play area. They set about drawing and writing down their wishes and these were sent to MITIE who is responsible for housing repairs in the local area. 

With only minor adjustments, the MITIE Team spent half term preparing the base for this new play experience meaning when the children returned from their holiday they could see the changes taking shape. 

MITIE workers are now involving the children in the finishing touches by helping to fit bird boxes in the area. 

Lin Reilly, Headteacher at Kings Norton Primary School commented: 

“We are all so pleased with the help we have received from MITIE, it has made such a difference to this area. The children are thrilled with the facilities provided and the bright colours.” Cabinet Member for Housing Councillor John Lines visited the school to see the new facility, he added:

“I am delighted that our repair contractor, MITIE has demonstrated such a wonderful commitment to the youngsters in their contract area. This community spirit is warmly welcomed by the City Council.” 

Standing in the new play area, Peter Johnson, Partnership Manager for MITIE expressed his delight that the Company had been able to make a positive contribution to the children of the community: 

“It’s a pleasure to see how much excitement this project has generated.”
