Gloucester City Council’s homes are to be decorated by MITIE, the strategic outsourcing and asset management company after Gloucester City Homes, the Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) set up to manage the Council’s homes, awarded them with a new contract to provide painting and decorating services.
The five-year contract, valued at £3.0m, will see MITIE improving all 4,700 of Gloucester City Homes’ tenanted properties during the lifetime of the contract. As part of an ongoing planned maintenance programme, MITIE will be painting the outside surfaces of all the Council’s homes as well as communal areas inside buildings such as blocks of flats and sheltered housing schemes.
Colin Summers, MITIE’s regional manager responsible for the contract, said: “We are delighted to be working with Gloucester City Homes and we look forward to achieving a productive partnership with them. Gloucester City Homes have made a commitment to maintain their properties to a high standard and we will use the best practice we’ve developed on similar projects to deliver a first class service to the residents of Gloucester, doing everything possible to minimise disruption to their lives.”
