MITIE WINS TWO HOSPITAL CONTRACTS THANKS TO NATIONAL FRAMEWORK APPOINTMENT

FTSE 250 outsourcer MITIE has been awarded two new multi-million pound technical facilities management contracts with Royal Berkshire and St Georges Healthcare NHS Trust. 

The contracts come on the back of MITIE’s appointment to the Government Procurement Service’s Facilities Management Framework Agreement. 

The contract with Royal Berkshire hospital is valued at £2 million annually, over three years. 

MITIE will deliver mechanical and electrical services, building fabric maintenance, water management and landscaping. MITIE will also deliver the management of 28 specialist services including lifts, generators, communications equipment and security systems as well specialist services such as medical gases, theatre validation and clinical lighting. 

The contract went live on July 1st 2011 and is the first acute hospital contract to deliver technical facilities management awarded under the Government Procurement Service’s Framework Agreement. 

MITIE has also been awarded a five-year, £2 million per annum contract with St Georges Healthcare NHS Trust, which is one of the largest healthcare providers in southwest London. 

The contract is to provide specialist maintenance services across the hospital including M&E, fabric maintenance and projects services to the 20 buildings in the Trust’s estate.

At a time of budgetary pressure this is something our clients are increasingly appreciating.”
