Mitie, the connected workspace and professional services business, has walked away with not one but two client awards at National Grid’s Property Awards 2017.

Now in its seventh year, the awards recognise excellence within National Grid’s supply chain and reward property projects that have led to outstanding results. Mitie fought off tough competition from a number of industry-leading designers, contractors and consultants to pick up two awards, in partnership with BNP Paribas Real Estate, for its contribution to risk reduction across National Grid's property estate:

  • Best Contribution to Process Improvement – Mitie received this award for implementing its smart lock solution across 250 National Grid sites. The outcome of the implementation means that access to each site is now controlled by unique pin codes, replacing the standard lock and key, which has, in turn, eliminated the risk of tampered locks and unauthorised access to the properties.
  • Best Project Delivery - Mitie conducted in-depth risk analysis across 350 National Grid sites before advising on and implementing tailored security services to meet the individual risk profile for each site, resulting in maximum risk reduction across National Grid’s estate.

Jason Towse, Managing Director of Mitie’s security management business commented: “A massive well done to everyone involved, and a special mention goes out to landscaping, FM, and cleaning teams for all the hard work carried out by them. This is a great achievement and testament to a strong partnership with the client which only began in April last year.”

The awards were held on Wednesday 10 May at the Hilton Hotel Bankside in London.
