Mitie wins The Doreen Heyes Award at the 2017 BICSs Awards

Mitie’s cleaning business has been awarded The Doreen Heyes Award at the 2017 British Institute of Cleaning Sciences (BICSc) annual awards ceremony.

The Doreen Heyes Award recognises the successful delivery of accredited training provision within healthcare. It also celebrates the training and development within an Accredited Training Organisation, which is approved to deliver BICSc assessment schemes and training courses.

Mitie achieved the award with their entry of St George’s University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Tooting, London. At St George’s Hospital, Mitie operate a fully accredited BICSc training facility, where all Mitie employees are BICSc trained to the national standard.

Mitie has been running its BICSc Training Centre since 2009, and has completed nearly 1000 training hours this year since April.

Jacinto Jesus, Director of Healthcare at Mitie said:

“This is a fantastic achievement for the team, and recognises the hard work and dedication of all our staff proudly working at St George’s University Hospital. I would like to congratulate the team for their fantastic award and for winning this for the second year running.”

The award ceremony took place on 14 September 2017, at Whittlebury Hall in Northamptonshire.
