MITIE wins Gold Global FM Award for Excellence in FM

MITIE is very pleased to announce that is has won a Gold Global Award for Excellence in FM at the second-annual Global FM Awards for Excellence in Facilities Management. 

MITIE’s entry was for its technology solution to improve customer service at its passengers with restricted mobility (PRM) contract at Luton airport. The entry was submitted as one of the three entries allowed by the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) after MITIE had already been recognised for the solution at the BIFM awards last October, when it won the Innovation in Customer Service Award. 

The Global FM Awards for Excellence in Facilities Management highlight the best practices of the FM world and recognise the strategic importance and value of facilities management. It provides worldwide recognition to those organisations who have presented applications regarding their commitment and successes in facilities management and continuous improvements within the profession. After 12 entries were put through to the final, MITIE was delighted to receive the Gold award on the night with the BIFM also being successful with one of its other entries winning the Platinum award as well. 

MITIE’s award recognises the cost-effective impact that its technology solution has had on customer service within Luton International Airport, helping to improve the service for its passengers with reduced mobility. The software ensures that passengers get to the correct plane, at the correct gate at the correct time, providing higher levels of service for the passenger whilst preventing flight delays and reducing exposure to financial penalties for the airport. 

Mark Hazelwood, Customer Solutions Director for FM, commented: “We are particularly proud of this award as it comes off the back of the skills of our entire department coming together to give our client a really good product. This is a fantastic accomplishment and demonstrates what you can achieve when you work closely with a client and get to really understand their requirements."
