MITIE WINS £7.5M CITY FIT-OUT CONTRACT FOR BANK OF IRELAND

MITIE’s interior fit-out business has won a £7.5m project with Bank of Ireland to fit out its prestigious new headquarters at Bow Bells House, located in EC4.

The site of Bow Bells House has recently been redeveloped for modern use by demolishing the existing 1950s structure and constructing a seven-storey, 200,000 sq. ft. commercial building in its place. MITIE’s fit-out work for Bank of Ireland will involve transforming 70,000 sq. ft of space within the new building from Category A to Category B.

The five-month project, which commenced on 14 January 2008, will entail fitting out open-plan office space, executive offices and meeting room facilities across four floors of the building. The new layout will include a client reception, meeting facilities, dealer areas, general office space, a ‘grab and go’ restaurant facility and security enhancements. To facilitate the new layout, MITIE will also carry out modifications to upgrade various Category A services such as heating and lighting, and will fit specialist joinery, specialist finishes and specialist lighting.

Joe McMahon, Project Manager for Bank of Ireland, commented: “MITIE will be working to a challenging schedule to ensure that we can move into our new headquarters on time. Given the team’s extensive experience and evident success in fitting out prime City office space such as this, we are certain of a very high standard of finish to be delivered on time and within budget.”

Matthew Quill, Joint Managing Director of MITIE Interiors, commented: “We look forward to transforming this new space for Bank of Ireland into a useable and tailored office, which will enable its 500-strong team to benefit from a workplace that is designed around the bank’s specific requirements.”
