MITIE secures contract with Plymouth Community Homes

MITIE has been awarded an £16.5 million contract to carry out major improvement works to over 14,000 homes in Plymouth. Plymouth Community Homes selected MITE as one of four suppliers to deliver kitchen and bathroom refurbishments as part of a five-year framework agreement.

MITIE, along with the other chosen suppliers are using a single local supply chain to secure the best economies of scale and value for money, and are equally committed to using local labour. It is envisaged that this could mean up to 120 jobs and 12 apprenticeships in the city. MITIE is very keen to get involved in community projects too, demonstrating their commitment to putting something back into the communities they work in. 

Clive Turner, Chief Executive of Plymouth Community Homes, said: “The successful contractors demonstrated excellent value for money together with a commitment to boost job numbers and apprenticeships in the city, which can only be welcomed in the current economic climate.”
