Mitie, the facilities management company, has been crowned winner of i-FM’s Technology in FM Awards.
The annual Technology in FM Awards – which took place this week in London – recognise companies and organisations in the facilities sector that are utilising new technologies, particularly the internet, to achieve exemplary improvements in business processes and performance. Mitie received the award in recognition of the company’s management information tool Miworld.
The Miworld tool was developed by Mitie to help collect, analyse and better understand client data to help drive smarter, more strategic decisions across their estates. Currently used on Mitie’s largest integrated FM accounts, Miworld provides a minute by minute activity report for both the Mitie delivery team and the client.
The judging panel – which included members of the i-FM team, FM industry leaders and technology experts – said that they were, “dazzled by the software’s ambition, scope and sophistication.” They went on to say, “In an increasingly valuable IFM market, Miworld provides customers and contract managers unprecedented access to data across entire portfolios in one place. The web-based portal also boasts an easy-to-use interface and is scalable according to the user’s requirements. Mitie was able to demonstrate a number of examples where the technology has delivered significant savings.”
Mark Hazelwood, Operations Director for Miworld, commented, “I am exceptionally proud of the team that delivers Miworld and this just reinforces the great work that we do. I’m especially chuffed that our Miworld Account Manager, Rachel Clark accepted the award on our behalf as she has been right at the centre of Miworld from day one and absolutely instrumental to its success.”
