MITIE's specialist retail business has recently extended its cleaning contract with Somerfield. In May 2006, MITIE won a contract to clean 500 stores, located north of the M4 corridor up to the Scottish border. It has now added an additional 200 stores in the south east region of England.
The contract will go live during September and many of the cleaning operatives and supervisors will TUPE over from the previous incumbent.
Clive Russell, Managing Director of MITIE’s retail business said: “We are pleased at the contract extension which confirms that Somerfield are satisfied with the high quality of service we have been providing since the original contract began. This contract extension enhances our position as one of the UK’s leading providers of retail cleaning solutions.”
