Mitie’s cleaning & environmental business renamed Environmental +

Mitie's cleaning and environmental business has renamed to Environmental +

The cleaning & environmental business of Mitie, the FTSE 250 strategic outsourcing company, has changed its name to Environmental +, it announced today.

Mitie's Environmental + business is one of the UK’s largest providers of cleaning, pest control, landscaping, waste recycling and winter gritting, with over 32,000 employees working across the UK.

Its client base is varied and includes airports, major supermarkets, cinema chains and government departments. Environmental + is active on every high street in the country, every day of the week.

The new name reflects its integrated approach to the provision of soft services, with a more joined-up sustainable offering for clients.

Increasingly, the Environmental + client base expects a joined-up service delivery, often preferring to receive services from just one provider that complement each other, leading to cost savings and improved metrics.

The Environmental + workforce is consequently becoming more multi-skilled, reducing the number of visits its management makes to a site, which frees everyone up to be more productive.

The joined-up approach from Environmental + is also increasing efficiencies and saving vital client resources such as energy and water, as one main soft services provider can lead to reductions in carbon footprints.

David Johnson, managing director of Environmental + said:

“With our name change to Environmental + it really is a case of ‘not business as usual’. We have realigned the way our team works so that there is a truly seamless operational delivery for the benefit of our clients.”

Environmental + is highly committed to innovation. “For over 25 years we have been at the forefront of our industries, pioneering real innovations that have been game changers, technology-wise” says David Johnson. “Our introduction of Lean Six Sigma, with our own Lean Academy and lean software, is now changing the way the industry operates.”
