Britain’s leading communications services company BT has selected Mitie for a three year contract to provide proactive mobile patrol services to 700 buildings in its UK property portfolio.
The strategic outsourcing and energy services company will supply out of hours protection for these locations and the assets within them.
A dedicated fleet of response vehicles is dual branded and fitted with GPS trackers which monitor – in real time – vehicle location, journey status and speed from MiTec, Mitie’s central technology hub in Northern Ireland. Additional mobile patrol teams are available throughout the UK to support the dedicated team should BT’s requirements change needing additional support.
The contract was awarded following a competitive tender process, and Mitie’s response team was selected based on its capability to deliver a flexible service for site health checks, mobile patrols and key holding for BT’s UK estate.
Commenting on the contract award, Bob Forsyth, Managing Director of Mitie’s Total Security Management business said:
“We are delighted to be working alongside BT’s security team to deliver integrated response services throughout the UK. Mitie’s partnership with BT and our holistic approach to security build on our credentials for strong customer service and greater efficiency.”
Hans Grupping, Head of Security, BT added:
“Mitie was selected for its flexible approach in delivering a value for money solution, having taken the time to understand BT’s business requirements. Intelligence is key in managing BT’s complex estate so the inclusion of an analyst to turn the patrol data into management information was key and is delivering tangible benefit to BT.”
