Mitie, the facilities management company, has announced the launch of a newly developed parcel tracking system called Pinpoint.
Mitie’s Total Document Management business has developed the unique app to address the needs of today’s more agile workforce.
The new software means there is no longer a need for typical desk-based solutions. Instead, tablets will allow users to track goods and deliveries from one device and platform, across single sites or multi-site locations.
Its features include:
- Real time tracking
- Email notifications for parcel status updates
- Live service-level agreement (SLA) indicators to manage workflow. Particular aspects of the service (scope, quality, responsibilities) are agreed between the service provider and the service user. A common feature of an SLA is a contracted delivery time
- Image capture to record any damage at source
- Built in near field communication (NFC) functionality for more accurate proof of receipt via ID card scanning. These protocols enable electronic devices to establish radio communication with each other by touching the devices together or bringing them into proximity to a distance of typically 10cm or less
James Gilding, Managing Director of Mitie’s Total Document Management business commented:
"This next generation of tracking technology add real value to both our staff and customers. It is part of a continued technology push within Mitie’s document management business.
"We are focused on using the latest technology platforms to enable further service improvements for our clients with more efficient processes and practices."
