Mitie launches 2012 Work Safe Home Safe! Awards

Mitie is delighted to announce that its 2012 Work Safe Home Safe! awards are now open for entries. The awards have been established to recognise excellence in health and safety performance across Mitie.

Calling all Mitie people - are you passionate about working safely?

Mitie is delighted to announce the launch of its 2012 Work Safe Home Safe! awards.

These will be the second annual Work Safe Home Safe! awards that have been established to recognise excellence in health and safety performance across Mitie and the company is now calling on its 63,000 employees to submit entries for the awards.

The awards form a key part of Mitie’s Work Safe Home Safe! Campaign which was recognised as a finalist in the 2011 Safety and Health Practitioner (SHP) awards for Campaign of the Year.

Richard White, Group Enterprise Risk Director, commented:

“We are looking for Mitie people or teams that embody Mitie’s values and that are always looking out for others, getting involved and thinking about safety every working day. If this sounds like you or any other Mitie people that you know then we want to hear from you.

“Since the launch of the campaign in 2010, we’ve had some great feedback on the Work Safe Home Safe! awareness tools and we’re constantly getting requests for more! This passion for working safely deserves recognition and so we want to hear the stories about the people within Mitie that have helped to make the campaign a real success.”

The awards are in two categories:

  • Best team approach in implementing the Work Safe Home Safe! programme – an award for the team that have used the materials in the best way, to promote health and safety excellence on their site or contract;
  • Work Safe Home Safe Champion – an award for those who make a difference every day and truly embody the Work Safe Home Safe! behaviours.

In addition to winning a beautiful trophy, the winners will be invited to receive their award from Mitie’s Chief Executive, Ruby McGregor-Smith CBE at an awards ceremony in October 2012.

So if you know any Mitie people who fit the bill, get nominating before the deadline on 20 July 2012!
