Mitie, the FTSE 250 strategic outsourcing and energy services company, is delighted to invite senior NHS managers to a free seminar at UCL, London on Wednesday 18 April 2012.

Charles Hendry, Minister of State for the Department of Energy and Climate Change has provisionally accepted our invitation to speak at this event.

The event will explore how sustainable practices are changing the NHS for the better, while reducing operating costs.

Expert speakers will cover a wide range of sustainability topics related to the NHS, with a focus on:

  • Cost reduction and carbon savings;
  • Renewable power purchasing agreements;
  • Decentralised energy;
  • Sustainable waste and facilities management;
  • Risk management and compliance.

NHS senior managers, from Head of Estates to Facilities Managers, Waste and Environment Managers, Energy Engineers and members of Sustainability teams will all benefit from attending this event. They’ll gain real life insight into best practice in sustainable facilities, waste and energy management in the NHS while getting the opportunity to share their experiences with their peers.

"Events such as these are important stepping-stones in a journey towards understanding and motivation. They are the key to success in partnership – no organisation is an island – it is a sum of its parts." Lorraine Holme, Policy and Programme Management (Sustainable Development), Department of Health Estates & Facilities Division

The event is free to attend but booking in advance is important due to limited places.
