Mitie, the FTSE 250 strategic outsourcing company, has been awarded a maintenance and repairs contract worth £15m with Heathrow Airport.
The three year contract will see Mitie deliver mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs to Heathrow terminals 3, 4 and 5, which combined see over 59 million passengers pass through each year.
Mitie will also provide mechanical and electrical maintenance services, including trackside works, to Heathrow Express as part of the contract.
The outsourcer has been providing a range of facilities management services to Heathrow Airport’s non-terminal buildings since 2010, including cleaning, roofing, fire protection, and pest control.
Mitie was awarded the contract based on its comprehensive experience in the transport sector and successful delivery of its existing operations at the airport.
Peter Mosley, managing director of Mitie’s Technical Facilities Management business, said:
“We’re delighted to be building on our partnership with Heathrow Airport and extending our service offering to support their wider estate, and Heathrow Express.
“Mitie has a strong track record within the transport sector, and we look forward to working closely with Heathrow Airport to deliver innovative and high quality services.”
