Mitie has been successful at the annual Loo of the Year Awards, a competition that helps find the best places ‘to go’ in the UK, including The Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.
The Mitie team, who have worked at Ashford International Station since November 2013, were presented with a platinum award, the highest accolade in the awards.
The team were also recognised with an award for Attendant of the Year, recognising the high level of commitment provided by the cleaning team to a vital public service.
Entries for the awards are invited from 60 categories and every entry is judged through an unannounced, inspection visit. Entries gaining a bronze, silver, gold or platinum award are presented with a certificate to promote their award-winning facilities to both customers and staff.
Commenting on the award, cleaning manager Wendi Bonner said: “The team are hard-working, thorough and dependable. They take pride in their work and go above and beyond to excel in everything they do. They fully deserve this award.”
Rob Cattell, Managing Director of Mitie’s cleaning business said of the awards: “This is a great example of the fantastic service we deliver to our clients and I am thrilled the team has been rewarded for their continued hard work.
“As a business we’re all about improving the ‘guest experience’ for our clients so it was particularly pleasing to be nominated for this award by members of the public.”
Mitie’s cleaning business has also recently been recognised as one of the best cleaning companies in the UK and Ireland at the Golden Service Awards 2013. The cleaning team picked up two awards for ‘Best cleaned Large Educational Establishment’ (Liverpool Community College) and ’Best cleaned Transport Terminal’ (Birmingham Airport).
