Mitie awarded facilities management contract with Merseyrail

Mitie has been awarded a five-year contract with Merseyrail, worth £10m over its term.

Mitie, the facilities management company, has been awarded a five-year contract with Merseyrail, valued at over £10m.

The contract will see Mitie deliver maintenance, cleaning, and helpdesk services to 66 stations, two depots and office accommodation across the transport network.

Merseyrail is an urban network of vital importance to the transport infrastructure of Liverpool, operating on the Wirral and Northern Lines within Merseyside. Merseyrail run almost 800 trains per day over 75 miles of track, and carry over 100,000 passengers per day.

Mitie was awarded the contract due to its innovative use of technology, and its experience working with transport clients including Network Rail and Heathrow Airport.
