MITIE are ‘totally’ confident about integrated security provision

MITIE, the strategic outsourcing and asset management company, is to further enhance its Total Security Management capabilities.

MITIE is strengthening its position as the leader in this market with a considered, joined-up approach to contracted security service provision. In essence, Total Security Management delivers a seamless array of manned, technical, and specialist security services, giving operational and financial benefits to customers – ultimately improving their security beyond the limits of segregated service provision.

The security industry has seen a recent shift in mindset, with more and more customers desiring to work with an established security provider that has the ability to provide their multi-discipline requirements seamlessly. Currently just a handful of companies are only able to attempt to meet these complex specifications with their existing security divisions - which are often too disparate, or even in competition with one another.

In adding to their capability MITIE has appointed Nick Batchelor who said, “The critical success factor in Total Security Management is having all the service lines under one roof, working codependently. We can then deliver to the customer exactly what they need to fulfil their security requirements in a polished and joined-up fashion. MITIE has been strong in offering a full suite of services for a long time. But focussing on what our customers’ ultimate aims are and delivering the best tailored solution, will enable cost savings and operational synergies for them. It will also enable us to penetrate new sectors, which is really exciting.”

Nick’s previous experience culminated in being Head of Physical Security for an international FTSE 100 company, responsible for protecting the company’s assets and information and that of their customers. His appointment enriches the existing MITIE talent with knowledge of today’s wider business drivers. Nick is recognised within the security industry as a pioneer of innovative solutions blending security technology, manned guarding, and process, to achieve a truly integrated approach.

Jeff Flanagan, Managing Director for MITIE’s security business commented: “Total Security Management makes sense to us as the theme of a joined-up approach runs right through our business. Our broad service range of security and other facilities management services enables us to deliver tailored solutions to every customer’s needs.”

Notes for editors
What is MITIE?

We’re the strategic outsourcing and asset management company.

What does that mean in practice? Providing everything from strategic consultancy, to world-class delivery on the ground. From long-term infrastructure planning, to facilities management, property and engineering services. Our strategic input can add value at the highest level, while our practical management expertise can save customers money and maximise their returns.

At the same time, it’s not just what we do, but how we do it that makes us different. Our people are passionate about what they do, committed to working in partnership with their clients, and will always look for a fresh answer to a new challenge.

We work with our clients in three ways; some take full advantage of our whole range of expertise by buying the whole suite, others may only need one aspect of what we do:

Strategy and consultancy

+ Facilities and project management

+ Service delivery

In other words, we think, we manage, and we deliver.

The thinking phase is all about finding strategic answers to long-term challenges about assets and resources. Facilities and project management puts those plans in place, and our unrivalled range of services is one of the best in the business.

There’s a lot more to MITIE than you probably think. We’re a big company with big ambitions - a leading FTSE 250 support services business, with 49,000+ people, revenues in excess of £1.4bn, and a reputation for being the best.
