Mitie appoints new national social housing director

Mitie, the FTSE 250 strategic outsourcing and energy services company, has appointed Peter Griffin as its new Social Housing Director with responsibility for consolidating its existing social housing offering under a unified national business.

With a 30-year career in the construction industry, and having held the position of Group Managing Director for EPS* from 2001 until 2009, Peter brings a wealth of experience in the social housing sector to the role.

Peter joined Mitie in 2009, when EPS was acquired by Mitie, where he took up a national strategic role working on projects across the division. Peter specialises in social housing maintenance and renewable energy services. He has experience of traditional contracts and partnering-style arrangements and has overseen new build, responsive maintenance and refurbishment contracts of all sizes.

Bill Robson, Managing Director of Mitie’s Property Management division said:

“Peter’s expertise of the social housing market will be invaluable to enhancing our social housing business and I am confident that his knowledge and skills will bring many benefits to our clients in this sector.”

Peter said,

“I’m delighted to be heading up our social housing business and look forward to working with our teams and clients across the UK. I’m particularly excited at the prospect of establishing a national social housing business. "In order to achieve this, my focus will be on building lasting client relationships, increasing our investment in communities, continuing to support apprentices and local employment and to instil a sustainable approach to business. "Cost certainty, consolidation and efficiencies are becoming more and more important and I believe that Mitie’s ability to deliver an integrated property maintenance solution puts us in a great position to provide our clients with consistency, stability and value for money from both an operational and client relationship perspective.”
