Mitie, the FTSE 250 strategic outsourcing company, has promoted Andy Barton to operations director for its landscapes business. Andy has worked in horticulture for 14 years and has worked at Mitie for 12 of those, most recently as head of operations for the southern regions.
Andy has already proven his skills in developing a strong and ambitious multi-skilled management team, who all work together to achieve exceptionally high standards. He has also helped developed his team’s personal careers and aspirations over the past 12 years.
Mite’s landscapes business delivers grounds maintenance & landscaping services including winter services gritting and tropical interior plants solutions.
Their clients include a range of blue chip financial organisations, and retail and property management companies which service over 7,000 clients throughout the UK. Andy will be working to ensure that Mitie’s landscapes business continues to deliver a high level of service to all clients.
Andy said: “I am delighted to become a key member of Mitie’s landscapes team, working relentlessly to exceed client expectations and pushing the limits of what Mitie can achieve.”

Andy’s promotion follows Tim Howell’s appointment as managing director of Mitie’s landscapes business at the end of 2013.
