Mitie appoints air cargo security specialist

Mitie has appointed Paul Munslow as its new air cargo security specialist.

Paul has significant expertise in the aviation and transport sector, and will be working closely with clients including Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Bentley Motors Ltd, Honda of the UK Manufacturing Ltd, UK Mail, and many other national and international organisations to train their staff on UK Department for Transport (DfT) requirements for air cargo security.

Munslow brings a wealth of experience to the role, with a twenty nine year career in the aviation industry, and is an approved Air Cargo Security Instructor by the DfT.

The 47-year-old joins Mitie after six years at Renful Premier Technologies where he was a senior consultant responsible for developing the company’s air cargo security training business in the UK, Ireland, and the rest of the world. Paul’s remit was extensive, covering both airside and landside operations and included working closely with government officials. Paul was also responsible for providing up-to-date training for police, prison personnel and postal authorities, in line with regulatory changes in the industry.

Paul began his career at FedEx Express Europe Inc. where he had worked for over two decades. He served as a Senior Learning and Development Specialist for 16 years and rewrote the company’s existing air cargo training procedures and helped initiate, design and launch the ‘Train the Trainer’ workshops for FedEx employees.

Welcoming Mr Munslow, Bob Forsyth Managing Director of Mitie Total Security Management said: “We are very excited to be welcoming Paul, whose wealth and experience will aid Mitie’s already strong aviation security division to challenge emerging threats to aviation security.”

“Paul’s role is an important one, and we are confident that he brings valuable expertise to our security leadership team.”

Munslow said: “I am delighted to be joining the Mitie group, who are leaders in the security industry. Mitie Total Security Management offers a streamlined service that seeks to fit within their clients’ corporate objectives, and I am excited to be working as part of that integrated approach, and also to launch Mitie as a leading provider and supplier of air cargo security training throughout the UK and the rest of the world.”
