MITIE appointed to provide catering and front-of-house services at re-opened Irish Club

MITIE, the strategic outsourcing and asset management company has been appointed to provide the catering, front-of-house and cleaning services to the newly re-opened Irish Club.

The Irish Club has recently re-launched following the sensitive restoration of its Blackfriars premises, and the new design marries stylish interiors with proud reminders of Irish provincial heraldry. Its chic new central location and revitalized menu is set to re-establish the Club as the stylish and tasteful meeting venue of choice that it has been for the past 59 years.

While MITIE’s food service team will be bringing a new menu, the front-of-house team will provide the benchmark for Irish hospitality in the Capital.

Alongside the new tastes that MITIE will be bringing to the menu, the Club’s Irish stew, a dish that is still viewed by many as a classic measure of a good chef, will continue to figure prominently on the menu. The bar will function as the Club’s central hub and will be devoted to providing quality service and tantalising the most sophisticated of palates with a host of fine wines, whiskeys, beers and porters from selected Irish and other distillers and brewers.

Robin Hay, Managing Director for MITIE’s food service ingredients commented:

“We are delighted to bring our services to the Irish Club and be a part of the Club’s long tradition as an outstanding venue for socialising and high quality food. The opening of new Irish headquarters promises to bring a new and exciting chapter for MITIE and to the Club’s well documented contribution to London fine dining.”

Charles Vernon, Executive Manger for The Irish Club added:

“The Irish Club is excited by this new venture with MITIE and whilst there will be new and innovative changes to the menu the Club’s Irish roots remain a strong influence in the food served. The Club’s reopening will re-establish it on the London social scene for many more years to come”

Membership of the prestigious Irish Club is open to all who are Irish by birth or descent, or the spouses of those who are. Applications are subject to approval by the Council which is made up of experienced members who are elected annually. Prominent among the Club’s distinguished Vice Presidents are Liam Neeson and Seamus Heaney.

What is MITIE?
We’re the strategic outsourcing and asset management company.

What does that mean in practice? Providing everything from strategic consultancy, to world-class delivery on the ground. From long-term infrastructure planning, to facilities management, property and engineering services. Our strategic input can add value at the highest level, while our practical management expertise can save customers money and maximise their returns.

At the same time, it’s not just what we do, but how we do it that makes us different. Our people are passionate about what they do, committed to working in partnership with their clients, and will always look for a fresh answer to a new challenge.

We work with our clients in three ways; some take full advantage of our whole range of expertise by buying the whole suite, others may only need one aspect of what we do:

Strategy and consultancy

+ Facilities and project management

+ Service delivery

In other words, we think, we manage, and we deliver.

The thinking phase is all about finding strategic answers to long-term challenges about assets and resources. Facilities and project management puts those plans in place, and our unrivalled range of services is one of the best in the business.

There’s a lot more to MITIE than you probably think. We’re a big company with big ambitions - a leading FTSE 250 support services business, with 49,000+ people, revenues in excess of £1.4bn, and a reputation for being the best.
