A MITIE new role for interior fit-out business

In a move that demonstrates the company’s commitment to safety, quality and the environment, MITIE’s interior fit-out business has appointed its first Systems and Policies Manager.

The new role will involve managing the systems and procedures associated with the business’s ISO9001 2008 Quality, 14001 Environmental and OHSAS18001 Health and Safety accreditations and continuous improvement against our Key Performance Indicators. This will ensure that our customers continue to receive the highest quality fit-out service with the aim being to achieve zero defects, zero accidents with the minimum impact to the environment on every contract in line with our “Quality without Compromise” initiative.

The role will also involve managing the business’s supply chain to ensure that subcontractors continue to comply with its policies and procedures, and that good performance is recognised and rewarded.

Harry Sharp, who has been a Pre-Construction Manager for MITIE’s interior fit-out business since 2003, will take up the new role in March.

Sean O’Boyle, Joint Managing Director of MITIE’s interior fit-out business, commented: “The role shows our commitment to maintaining all of these important safety, quality and environmental accreditations and to continually improving our service. By upholding the highest standards and by putting our core values into action, we can ensure that customers receive Quality without Compromise from start to finish, every time.”

“We’re delighted that Harry has been appointed to the role: his contribution will help to make sure that we continue to meet and exceed our SQE goals.”

Commenting on his new role, Harry said: “The policies and procedures we’ve got in place are there to help us minimise our impact on the environment, aim for the defectfree completion of every project, and maintain our excellent health and safety record. I’m very pleased to be in this new role, which will involve managing the systems and policies in each of these areas to ensure that every project is the best we have delivered.”

About MITIE
We’re the strategic outsourcing and asset management company.

What does that mean in practice? Providing everything from strategic consultancy, to world-class delivery on the ground. From long-term infrastructure planning, to facilities management, property and engineering services. Our strategic input can add value at the highest level, while our practical management expertise can save customers money and maximise their returns.

At the same time, it’s not just what we do, but how we do it that makes us different. Our people are passionate about what they do, committed to working in partnership with their clients, and will always look for a fresh answer to a new challenge.

We work with our clients in three ways; some take full advantage of our whole range of expertise by buying the whole suite, others may only need one aspect of what we do:

Strategy and consultancy

+ Facilities and project management

+ Service delivery

In other words, we think, we manage, and we deliver.

The thinking phase is all about finding strategic answers to long-term challenges about assets and resources. Facilities and project management puts those plans in place, and our unrivalled range of services is one of the best in the business.

There’s a lot more to MITIE than you probably think. We’re a big company with big ambitions - a leading FTSE 250 support services business, with 49,000+ people, revenues in excess of £1.4bn, and a reputation for being the best.
