Interserve wins prestigious IWFM Award for rapid Nightingale Hospital mobilisation

Interserve Group Limited, the international Support Services, Construction and Equipment Services group, has won a prestigious IWFM Award for mobilising a critical facilities management contract to support the North West Nightingale NHS Trust Hospital in just 12 days. The Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management hosted their annual awards yesterday to celebrate and recognise the best the sector has to offer. Interserve, a finalist in three categories, won the Workplace Experience: Non-office / Corporate Environment award. Interserve’s nomination focused on mobilising critical portering, cleaning, maintenance, catering and waste services – among others – at the North West Nightingale NHS Trust Hospital (NWNNT) in Manchester.

Martin Burholt, Managing Director of Communities and International, Interserve, received the call from the NHS outlining their requirements and together with Carl Roberts, Sector Director, Interserve, created a senior management team and rapidly mobilised the contract so the hospital could begin receiving patients from across the North West.

Mr Burholt said: “I am hugely proud of the work the team carried out to mobilise the contract swiftly and safely to support the hospital to deliver services to the North West.

“It is fantastic to receive this accolade. I believe that the way the outsourcing sector responded to the demands of the COVID-19 pandemic has shown the agility and ability of companies like Interserve and has showcased what we can do in a crisis.” Lynn Mawdsley, Support Services Managing Director, Interserve, said: “I am delighted the IWFM has chosen to highlight the incredible work undertaken by Interserve to mobilise such a complicated contract from a standing start, in just 12 days.

“The work undertaken to provide critical services to the North West Nightingale NHS Trust Hospital at such short notice was a phenomenal team effort, working closely with the NHS, and we are on standby to provide those services once again.”

The IWFM hosted the awards in a virtual ceremony that was broadcast yesterday.
