Interserve awarded three year extension with leading contact lens manufacturer

Interserve has won a three-year account extension to provide support services to CooperVision, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of contact lenses.

Having provided support services for CooperVision since 2009, Interserve will continue to deliver cleaning and grounds maintenance services at CooperVision’s Hamble 15 acre manufacturing site in Hampshire. This includes its 15 manufacturing facilities and laboratories, which operate to clean room standards, and support areas such as maintenance and engineering workshops.

Interserve will reduce costs and provide a more environmentally efficient service by delivering a 24/7 service using new, sustainable technologies such as chemical free scrubber driers and pre-dosed chemical cleaning.

Guy Bruce, managing director - infrastructure and industrial, at Interserve, said:

“Having developed a strong partnership with CooperVision over the last seven years, we are well placed to understand its particular service requirements. Our focus on service quality will continue to ensure the customer experience is a key priority. Ongoing investment in the latest cleaning technologies will also help us to continue to deliver performance improvements at the Hamble site, while reducing our environmental footprint.”

Mark Foss, central engineering and facilities director, at CooperVision, said:

“Ensuring that the facilities at our Hamble site remain up to the highest standard is critical to the success of our manufacturing operations and to the quality of our products. Interserve has consistently delivered a quality service that has helped us to achieve this. We look forward to continue building on this over the next few years.”

CooperVision is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of soft contact lenses and related products and services. They feel that by collaborating and listening to others, they can accomplish far more. They manufacture over half a billion lenses a year in the UK alone. Coopervision’s products are sold in over 100 countries around the world. From China to Europe, from Africa to the Americas, they are there improving the way people see.
