Mitie, the facilities management company, has recently been awarded the prestigious ‘Johnstone’s Painter of the Year’ award.
Mitie’s painting business, which was established in 1987 and today employs 2,500 people, was presented with the award in the period and restoration category for the works carried out at the Lyceum Theatre in Sheffield.
At the ceremony held on Saturday 16 May at the Celtic Manor in Newport, Wales, the winning entry was praised for the highly technical and decorative works carried out at the 117 year old site.
The team were commended for their complex work and highly skilled painting techniques which ensured that the theatre was brought back to life with a spectacular finish.
Each year, UK painting company Johnstone’s Paint holds the awards ceremony dedicated to recognising the highest standards in the painting and decorating industry.
Kenny Robson, managing director of Mitie’s painting business, said:
