Mitie scoops Silver at the Apprenticeships 4 England awards

Mitie, the facilities management company, scooped Silver at the Apprenticeships 4 England Awards in recognition for a continued contribution to the development of apprenticeship programmes across England.

Mitie, the facilities management company, scooped Silver at the Apprenticeships 4 England Awards, in recognition for a continued contribution to the development of apprenticeship programmes across England.

The awards, held last week at the Emirates Stadium in London, recognise and celebrate the employer’s commitment to developing its workforce through apprenticeships and supporting its employees during their training. With major blue chip companies from across the UK shorlisted across seven categories, including Siemans, VISA and Starbucks, the competition was fierce.

Mitie’s Property Services business, in collaboration with Bexley College, successully demonstrated how its apprenticeship programme is structured to provide opportunities and develop people from all backgrounds who wish to challenge themselves, excel in what they do and inspire others along the way.

Mat Bishop, Director Mitie’s Property Services' Southern Housing business said:

"This is such a great achievement for our teams and we’re delighted to have won this award in recognition of our programmes which are designed to support communities and individuals in need of development.

“Our priority is not to simply deliver incentives which meet our business‘ needs, but the needs of our clients and the local communities we work with. We take pride in being one of the top employers of apprentices in the UK."

Jacquie McDonnell, Head of Partnership/Employer Development at Bexley College commented:

“The communication, mentoring and support from an employer is crucial to the success of the apprentice. In the case of Mitie they truly work as a partner in the planning and delivery of our programmes and fully support us as the training provider to manage our programmes. Bexley College look forward to building upon this relationship to help apprentices of the future to succeed and progress within the industry. "
