Following a sponsored London to Paris bike ride, Mitie cyclists have raised an impressive £21,983 to support Action Medical Research, an organisation committed to research and combatting diseases that affect the lives of millions of children.

Last month, 14 employees from the facilities management company swapped their brogues for their cleats as they took part in a two day, 300-mile bike ride to help the hundreds of thousands of children in the UK whose lives are devastated by disease.

“Action Medical Research continuously makes ground-breaking discoveries to improve and save the lives of children everywhere. It was a cause that we were inspired and delighted to support,” commented Tim Howell, Managing Director of Mitie’s landscaping business and organiser and participant of the cycle.

He added: “Everyone on the team trained so hard in the run up to the ride and the entire team was determined to finish, do the event proud, and raise as much money possible for such a worthy cause.”

The team has a fundraising target of £24,000 and donations can still be made via their sponsorship page: www.action.org.uk/sponsor/Mitie
