Mitie, the facilities management company, has been recognised for its ‘Outstanding Approach to Repairs and Maintenance’ at the 2016 UK Housing Awards (UKHA), in recognition for its repairs and maintenance contract with Golding Homes.

Regarded as one of the most prestigious awards in the industry, the awards are now in their 20th year and recognise achievements across the social housing sector. Golding Homes collected the award at the Lancaster London Hotel on Tuesday 26 April, which was hosted by Rory Bremner, the impressionist and satirical comedy presenter.

Mitie and Golding Homes also deliver training and skills through a vibrant apprenticeship scheme, providing opportunities and support for vulnerable adults.

Peter Stringer, Chief Executive of Golding Homes, said: “It is a great privilege to win this national award. Our repairs service is vitally important to our customers and therefore to us all. The partnership between Mitie, our residents and our community partners is at the heart of our service delivery and it is great for that to be recognised.
